Lords of the Fallen has been officially unveiled last year during E3, the most important event in the gaming industry, which takes place every year in Los Angeles, United States.

This year, developer CI Games brought in the result of one year of hard work in the form of an extensive Lords of the Fallen demo, which is now available to play at its E3 booth.

Those who have seen the game claim that it's a Dark Souls clone and even Tomasz Gop, executive producer, CI Games, says that there are core mechanics that are strikingly similar to those included in From Software's games.

However, there are some differences that show a bit of innovation from the developer's part, like the checkpoints, which are slightly different from those in Dark Souls.

In addition, Lords of the Fallen players will be able to store their XP at these checkpoints, so when you're killed, you only lose the souls you collected since the last checkpoint.

On the graphics side, however, most players who tried the demo claim that it looks much better than any other Souls game. That's mainly because Lords of the Fallen has been specially developed for next-gen consoles and PC.

The combat seems a bit more fluid than in Dark Souls games, which is another plus for Lords of the Fallen. Obviously, there will be many bothered by the game's strong resemblance with From Software's Dark Souls and won't be playing just for that, but judging by the gameplay trailers from E3 2014, this is a title that we should be watching closely.

“I’ve seen a lot of people actually wonder if Lords is a challenging game. Well, time to settle that this week. We will have some extra treats for anyone who defeats not only the Catacombs scenario that we’ve selected, but also the Champion boss that awaits right at the end of it. Whether it will be one person, or a hundred, we’ll see. Trust me – I am just as curious as you are.

And if someone ends up craving more, there will be an additional boss to fight, just in case someone really has something to prove. Make no mistake, guys, we are doing this to get ready to show the hands-on demo to the public as soon as possible, and to show it in the best way possible – you are who we’re making this game for, after all!” says Tomasz Gop, executive producer, CI Games.

Lords of the Fallen is expected to be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC sometime this fall. An exact launch date is likely to be announced in the coming weeks.
