The upcoming Dark Souls killer also known as the great hope of action role-playing games that focus on mechanical mastery rather than stat crunching, Lords of the Fallen, has gotten a brand-new trailer.

Lords of the Fallen is the creation of Tomasz Gop, The Witcher 2: Assasin of Kings' producer, and the new trailer has been released in order to celebrate the San Diego Comic-Con and the closing release date of the game.

The new trailer seems to be furthering the trend of having a slowed-down cover of a known song, foreshadowing bad events to come, superimposed over some slow-motion action that is both revealing and mysterious at the same time.

Anyway, Tomasz Gop has revealed that he has a good nose for action-oriented role-playing games with The Witcher 2, and from the footage shown so far, the upcoming game seems to be a mashup of all the best things you could cram into such a game.

The trailer below, hosted by IGN, shows some new gameplay footage, set to the tune of a much more tenebrous version of Creedence Clearwater Revival's Bad Moon Rising.

Lords of the Fallen is currently scheduled for launch in October, coming to the Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
