The project is still in early stages of development

Developer and publisher CI Games recently launched one of their most important titles in the last couple of years, Lords of the Fallen. Even more recently, the Polish studio confirmed that the third installment in the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series would be released in 2016 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

However, it looks like the company has more than one title in the works for the next few years, which isn’t something out of the ordinary in the gaming industry, especially for people with many ideas.

Lords of the Fallen Executive Producer Tomasz Gop briefly confirmed to Eurogamer that his studio had already started work on a sequel, which will probably not be ready until a few years from now.

Even though the collaboration between Deck 13 and CI Games, Lords of the Fallen hasn’t been that well received by gamers and media due to the high amount of bugs, it still sold very well.

It remains to be seen how many of the issues reported by players will be fixed by the time the sequel arrives. CI Games and Deck 13 promised they would do everything they can to patch all the bugs and glitches that affect all versions of the game, including PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Lords of the Fallen’s main problem was the fact that it was almost unplayable for many gamers who purchased it at launch. Even after the delivery of four patches, the game still doesn’t feel stable and optimized enough to be played in long sessions.

The sequel to an almost broken game is now in early stage of development

Hopefully, developers will learn from their mistakes and release Lords of the Fallen 2 in a better shape than that of its predecessor; otherwise, gamers will probably lose their trust in the Polish developer.

Anyway, it’s a bit too early to talk about Lords of the Fallen 2, especially that Tomasz Gop mentioned that they were only “working on vision and concepts” for the game. This means that the sequel to one of the most controversial RPGs released this year is still in a very early stage of development.

We have already reviewed Lords of the Fallen and our Andrei Dobra thinks the game “is a decent role-playing experience with some innovative features but it's weighed down by the balancing problems and the technical issues.”

If you haven’t gotten the game yet and are still wondering whether it’s worth your time, then you should definitely check our full Lords of the Fallen review.
