Teen singer says she’s a feminist, blasts ignorant women who don’t know what feminism is

Perhaps the name of Lorde (real name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor) doesn’t ring a bell with you, but I bet her biggest hit to date, “Royals” (above) does. Well, Lorde isn’t just one of the hottest pop stars out there right now, she’s also one of the most articulate and down to earth.

She’s also very much opposed to the idea of working with David Guetta who, as you probably know, is the go-to producer for a guaranteed hit at the moment.

Asked if she’d consider collaborating with him on her next album, Lorde says, “[expletive] no. He’s so gross,” but she doesn’t further elaborate on it. Safe to say though that you’d be wrong to expect a David Guetta collaboration anytime in the future.

In the same interview for FasterLouder, the singer – who, by the way, is only 16 years old – talks about feminism and how much she hates women who are so ignorant as to not know what that is.

“I think women who say, ‘No, I’m not a feminist — I love men,’ I think that is just… You don’t know what it means. You think it means that, ‘I don’t shave under my arms, I burn my bras. [expletive] men!’ How could you be so uneducated, and so unwilling to learn about something which is so important to you?” she says.

Lorde is a feminist, “absolutely,” she stresses. Talent, brains, and good looks: I think I love her.
