Turbine is planning to release Update 13: The Breaking of Isengard soon, adding a lot of new content to their massively multiplayer online role playing game Lord of the Rings Online.

As such, the company has revealed more information regarding the continuation of the Epic Questline. Players will be making a return to Isengard and the Fangorn Forest, where they will attempt to undo the devastation that was caused by Saruman and his formidable warriors, the Uruk-Hai.

A large group of Ents led by Treebeard fall on Isengard, sending both Saruman and Wormtongue fleeing back to Orthanc, just like in the books that the game is based on.

Many Ents and Huorns were burned to death during the assault, and the walking trees decide to tear down the dam holding back the Isen in order to turn the tide of the battle.

As promised earlier this year, the mail system will see an update, allowing player to attach up to 10 items in a single message. Additionally, VIP players will be able to check their mail while out in the field, and Store Items can be sent to friends using a Mithril coin.

Speaking of stores, Lalia’s Market will see a host of new items added, purchasable as usual with both Turbine Points as well as Mithril coins.

Update 13: The Breaking of Isengard will also bring an inventory system upgrade, revamping the slot system. Players will be able to customize their inventory by changing the number of slots in each bag, and 15 new slots will be made available, which is great news for collectors.

The North Downs will receive an upgrade, just as Moria did before them, and sometime later this year players will be able to venture near the border of Gondor.

Last month, Turbine’s Aaron Campbell promised Lord of the Rings Online players that they’ll get a new playable class this year, adding to the already existing Hunter, Guardian, Loremaster, Minstrel, Warden, Champion, Burglar and Runekeeper.

For now no details regarding the new class have been leaked, but supposedly it fits right in with the lore, and has received the Tolkien Enterprises seal of approval.

A release date for Update 13: The Breaking of Isengard has not yet been announced, but the Lord of the Rings Online players have been advised that they will be required to have purchased Helm’s Deep in order to enjoy the new content.
