U.S. Cellular has introduced a new service for its subscribers, called My Contacts Backup. This is meant to help
users recover all the information stored on their cellulars in the case of losing or changing their phone.

It is extremely frustrating for anyone to have to deal with the loss of important information and contact details as a result of having their phone damaged or of losing it. Not only that, but data transfer from one phone to another when the user buys a new one is tedious.

For these situations, U.S. Cellular now provides a safe storage space that offers easy access to all the information retrieved from the user's mobile phone. The interesting aspect about it is that it also allows data to be automatically deleted from any stolen mobile phone at the subscriber's request.

The user has the power of updating the content of the data that is being stored on a daily basis and also to manage it straight from the PC, at the US Cellular website. Data transfer from the mobile phone to the data base takes place wirelessly, without any need for cables or for a PC.

My Contacts Backup is powered by Asurion, which is one of the most important providers in the area of wireless industry. Rodney Schlosser, senior vice-president of business development and strategic partnerships for Asurion declared that "We have invested substantially to deliver an easy, fast and flexible backup application. It is simple to use at home, in the retail environment, or anywhere." Furthermore, their efforts to develop this service come as a result of a study that proves that more than 40 percent of wireless subscribers would like to backup their data.

U.S. Cellular is one of the leading national wireless companies. Their new service, My Contacts Backup, is compatible with more than 25 handsets and is available for free to all easyedge unlimited data plan subscribers.
