Lookout, the application that is supposed to keep your Android device safe from being hacked, has just received a minor update.

According to developers, the latest update includes some Location and Backup performance improvements, though no details are offered on any of these changes.

Keep in mind that while Lookout’s security features are free to use, for complete protection, you might need to upgrade to paid version for $3/€2 per month.

The paid version comes with a free two-week trial (no credit card required) and at the end of it, users can keep the free version of the app for as long as they like if they do not intend to upgrade.

Lookout Security & Antivirus 8.8 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 1.5 and up. Check it out here.
