Lookout has rolled out a new version for their security application for Android. Besides introducing a fresh new look, the company also delivers a new feature, designed to help track your lost phone when running on low battery.

This feature is called “Signal Flare” and its purpose is to fire up a notification at your Lookout account about the last known location of the device when battery charge hits low levels. This option comes as a result of the fact that the company found out that 30% of the people losing their Androids were unable to recover them because of a dead battery.

Also new in this release is the ability to fend off dialer-based threats that can surreptitiously erase data on the phone. To counter this type of attacks, Safe Dialer component scans the numbers you want to call from websites.
