The fine is not to be looked over, either

Isn't love grand? It makes you feel exhilaration and makes you hope when things are gloomy, it is addictive and relaxing, while at the same time it's always keeping you upbeat. Yeah, all that and some obsessions being created, when it's like a veil that blocks your vision, clouds your judgment and all you see before your eyes is red, and murderous thoughts come to mind.

That must have been the sequence of feelings for Ann Marie Linscott, 48, who used the classified advertisement website Craiglist to search for an assassin that would do away with a romantic rival. She was willing to pay five grand for the job to get done and said she was looking for a 'Freelancer.' She did receive three responses, all from people who thought it was for a freelance writing gig, as PC World reports.

Ann Marie's husband apparently was seeing a 56-year-old 'Carol,' from Oroville, California, whom he had met online, several years earlier, during a college course. The two must have been having an affair ever since and that got the woman mad, ultimately leading to the ads posted online.

She was arrested on the 34th of January in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and charged with murder for hire on Wednesday. The penalty Ann could be up against is 30 years in jail and $750,000. Ironic, I think, being willing to spare five grand on killing somebody and ending up with what's almost a life sentence and a 150 times greater sum to pay.

Love is grand, I say again. Being willing to go through all the moral issues on your own, and then deal with your loved one's grief and comfort him, although you know he's cheated on you repeatedly and yet show no remorse is a bit squarer a pill than I can swallow. But perhaps that's just me.
