EA Sports has announced that those players who enjoyed the Ultimate Team mode for previous FIFA titles launched in 2009 and 2010 are now able to get early access to the 2011 edition of the same video game mode, ahead of its official launch date for all players of the series, which is scheduled for November 3.

Those players who are interested in getting a head start can use the official FIFA 11 Ultimate Team web tool, offered by the publisher.

Returning players will get access to two entirely free gold packs of cards meaning that they have an advantage on November 3.

Electronic Arts is also saying that those players who long into the web based tool from now until the official launch date will get a daily gift, presumably cards to allow them to create a better team.

The FIFA 11 incarnation of Ultimate Team delivers improvements like Play A Friend online matches, which allow gamers to see who has assembled the best virtual team in a head to head confrontation.

Another new feature is the FIFA Ultimate Team Generations mode, allowing players to showcase their history on the game mode and show their friends how their chosen team has evolved over the years.

Ultimate Team is basically a virtual collectible card game based around the FIFA franchise, with a strong emphasis on the multiplayer experience.

Players initially get a team with a full roster, home and way kits and a stadium and can evolve their operations by hiring different types of managers, developing their players and adjusting their tactics.

Cards can be bought and can be traded between players.

Electronic Arts has already said that FIFA 11 is the most important sports based video game launch, managing to sell quicker than previous installments.

The launch of the Ultimate Team mode will likely bring an uptick in the sales numbers of the series.
