A helicopter crashed in Vauxhall, near the Thames, in London, at around 8 a.m. today. 2 people were killed and at least 9 were injured in the accident.

The aircraft hit a construction crane located on a building, and collapsed to the ground, in flames. As you can see in the footage shown above, the massive crash prompted fires in the area.

Washington Post writes that the helicopter took off from Red Hill Heliport, and was heading to the suburb of Elstree.

The pilot was flying lower to the ground than usual, and had radioed in to ask for permission to land, due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Witnesses have described the scene as an “inferno.” There is no word yet on who the two victims are, but I will keep you informed as more details are released to the press.
