Modern music usually involves guitars and guitars have their own world. Even more, guitars have a whole live industry with its own ups and downs, moments of pure genius and moments of extreme dullness. Well, it's not the bout dullness that I am going to tell you about but rather the glamour of a guitar, guitar-tech and guitar-related convention held in London, this year being the 5th such manifestation in a row. Becoming more and more important on the world map of such events, this year's London Guitar Show will be larger than the previous one and will feature more producers, more gear and definitely more pleasure and learning options for the visitors.

The 2007 edition of the London Guitar Show will proudly present personalities in the guitar and generally speaking -the music- world: from Nicko McBrain (heavy metal legendary band Iron Maiden) and Phil Hilborne and up to one of the guitar-gods, Steve Vai himself! Also resonating brand names in the industry will be present at the LGS 2007 such as PRS (Paul Reed Smith guitars), Peavey (one of the leading names in musical gear), Ashdown (vintage English guitar amps), Ibanez (Steve Vai is actually an Ibanez endorser, so this should say it all), Laney, Line6, Marshall (the classic amp experts), Orange (amps not phones), Proel, Trace Elliot, Warwick or Rotosound, just to name the best known brands in the field.

As a matter of fact Rotosound is one of the sponsors of this year's LGS - and not only will Rotosound be more visible than ever, but it will also be the godfather of a completely new section-the Bass Studio. The LGS officials stated that the Bass Studio will let you "see all the bass amp manufacturers all together in one place without noise restriction and get to thump those hefty bass strings to your hearts content".

Along with the traditional exhibition of the manufacturers and their merchandise, many seminars and master classes will be available for the willing, including demonstrations, lectures and practical meetings. An additional 5 pounds will be the charge for attending Vai's master class; nevertheless, should you not be able to catch him on Saturday, April the 28th, you will have another chance to get his autograph on Sunday, as he is most likely to be at the LGS still. Also, Nicko McBrain and Phil Hilborne will bring in some guests and will surely play much to your delight. Last but not least, the renowned Blockheads will celebrate their 30th anniversary at the London Guitar Show as well and it really looks like we're all on for one hell of a good time this spring!

In the end, a warm recommendation for the April 27th -29th weekend for those who will be in London: if you are in love with the guitar and its world, it's there where you might have the surprise of seeing your best-spent 12 pounds! Tune up and let's roll, for April ain't that far away!
