Fashion addictives from all over the world will get a look at Britain's trends for fall and winter as London Fashion Week begins today.
Showcasing everything from Philip Treacy's spectacular hats to the unstructured elegance of Ghost, London's fashion festival is "internationally recognized for attracting and developing the best new design talent in the world," said Hilary Riva, chief executive of the British Fashion Council.
An impressing number of designers will display their creations for fall / winter 2006, with nearly fifty runway shows over the festival's five days. The event is hosted by The Natural History Museum and sponsored by the British Fashion Council and gives 170 participants the opportunity to show off their work.
The first night of the week's catwalk shows will present Julien Macdonald's collection. Before initiating his own labeled line, Julien improved his skills at two prestigious successful fashion houses: Chanel and Givenchy.
London Fashion Week follows right after New York Fashion Week, while Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks are incoming soon.
