A video of a street artist in Singapore sculpting portraits into lollipops has hit the web a little over a week ago. As it's reaching one million views on YouTube, reports emerge that the clip is a fake.

Epoch Times writes that it is part of a promotional campaign for Chupa Chups lollipops. The footage was shot on the streets of Singapore, where a tourist appears to have his portrait made by an artist able to sculpt it out of a lollipop.

“It’s got like a nose and eyes and everything,” he says afterwards, amazed by the artist's precision.

Chupa Chups has revealed that it has all been a prank,  staging an interview by a local reporter with the artist now known as “Uncle,” which in Singapore is a term used to address an elderly man.

Throughout the video posted below this blog entry, it becomes pretty obvious that the company is not trying to hide that this has all been a viral marketing stunt.
