Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games have confirmed that their recent Lollipop Chainsaw hack and slash game has shipped over 700,000 units around the world.

Lollipop Chainsaw delivered a truly intense experience last June, when it was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, putting players in the boots of blonde high school cheerleader Juliet Starling, who needs to protect her little town from a zombie invasion.

The game, masterminded by famous Japanese designer Goichi Suda (aka Suda51), attracted quite a lot of people, even if some didn’t approve of the skimpy outfits worn by Juliet while she was slashing zombies with her trusty chainsaw.

Even so, the game has shipped over 700,000 units worldwide, becoming the most successful game ever to be released by Grasshopper Manufacture.

While the Japanese studio hinted at the chance of a PC port earlier this year, the developer has made no mention of it during its special Lollipop Chainsaw Summer Appreciation Festival that it held over the weekend in Japan.
