We dare say that the item that Logitech has just released has one of the highest potential for personal ruin. After all, it would be disastrous if you fall prey to a pickpocket if you're using it, because it would mean losing everything important to your livelihood.
It may sound a bit over the top, until you consider that the wallet is usually where you have your ID, money and credit cards, and that adding the iPhone just makes sure you lose everything if a pickpocket gets you.
If you wear long shirts that cover your pant pockets, though, or are otherwise capable of evading such dangers, the Logitech Case+ might be an interesting and useful device.
The Case+ is a multi-solution case made of several components, some pretty mundane and some not so much.
The Case+ itself is, surprisingly enough, the ordinary one, as it's just an iPhone case like so many others in the world.
However, its backside is made of brushed metal, which makes it easy to attach the other stuff magnetically. Yes, magnets make the world go round.
There's a wallet, a leather back, a card dock and an extended battery to be had, all of them capable of attaching magnetically.
Sure, the extended battery connects through a bent Lightning port connector, and is meant to be placed on the top of the case, but the principle of attachment is still the same.
Also, the wallet won't really have that much room for stuff. You'll be able to fit your ID, maybe a driver's license and a credit card or two, but thick wads of cash will have to go elsewhere on your person.
In case you're wondering, the Case+ battery has a charge of 2300 mAh, which means that you can charge an iPhone once, and still have a bit left over to restore half the phone battery if you don't make it home or at some other place with a power outlet or USB charging cable.
It's a shame that the Logitech Case+ (plus add-ons) costs so much, $199 / €143.36. At least the high sum means that people from around the world won't weep over the restricted availability (the product is only shipping in the United States of America for now).
