Knowing that it has a reputation to uphold, Logitech definitely didn't slack off when it designed the K800 keyboard, making sure that the wireless product was as performance-optimized and feature-packed as possible, while also providing a high degree of aesthetic value, especially when the lights are off.

The Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800, as it is called, has the ability to wirelessly communicate with the PC.

This, however, is not what makes this product stand out amongst its peers, the real asset being the very intricate lighting system that Logitech implemented.

Basically, the peripheral is meant to enhance the immersion and visibility of keys during gaming, by seamlessly illuminating them in when the ambient lights are turned off.

Thus, it has a special backlighting system which uses ambient light sensors and motion sensors to gauge the light intensity, turning the backlight on or off when required.

This will ensue the highest level of eye comfort and reduce the strain on the battery at the same time, when ambient light is sufficient that is.

As actual specifications, the K800 features 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, enabled by a Unified receiver, utilizes the PerfectStroke key system and comes with Incurve (concave) keys.

"The Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800 is perfect for someone who values both form and function," said Denis Pavillard, vice president of product marketing for Logitech's keyboards and desktops.

"The Wireless Illuminated K800 keyboard includes features that make it a standout - smart backlighting, Logitech Unifying technology, our PerfectStroke key system and Logitech Incurve keys - and presents it all in a very stylish and sleek package that's sure to please," he added.

The Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800 has a battery that can keep it operational for up to 10 hours and is rechargeable via USB (the keyboard can be used while its batteries are recharging). Finally, the product should start shipping later this month, priced at $99.99.
