While tablets are characterized by their lack of a physical keyboard, there are ways around this little disadvantage, as it is perceived by some, one of which is using such a thing as a keyboard case, which Logitech just released.

When it comes to dealing with the fact that a physical keyboard just feels better than a touch-based one, tablet makers can go about things in more than one way.

Those like ASUS can design their slates (Eee Pad Transformer) with support for detachable keyboards right off the bat, or with sliding mechanisms.

Then there are tablets that don't make a point of having one of those things, so peripheral makers can set about the task of doing ti instead.

Being one of the world's best known peripheral makers, Logitech figured it may as well make a keyboard case or two.

Case in point, the outfit developed the Logitech Tablet Keyboard, which has dedicated Android and iOS shortcuts, plus a tablet stand that doubles as hardshell sleeve.

"People love their tablets - the category is growing quickly and is here to stay," said Azmat Ali, Logitech senior director for tablet products.

"We've created a great lineup of products for tablet users, and it's just the beginning. Over the coming months you can expect to see additional products for iPad and Android tablets that are designed to help people create, consume and communicate."

The Logitech Tablet Keyboard is priced at about $70 and is not the only accessory that the outfit has prepared.

Apparently, the world-class maker of PC components and consumer electronics complements and supplements also devised a $100 Logitech Keyboard Case, a Z515 Bluetooth Speaker System (also $100) and a $50 Bluetooth mouse. They all should start selling either this month or by the end of June.
