Besides its advanced and extremely attractive computer peripherals and audio systems, Logitech has also developed, over the past couple of years, a fairly wide range of universal remote controls, which allow users to control their entire home entertainment system from a single, central unit. And one of the latest such products is the Harmony 510 Advanced Universal Remote, which has just been rolled out by Logitech sans the usual bells and whistles, and which allows users to control several products at a time and supports up to 225,000 devices from no less that 5,000 of the leading consumer electronics brands.

The remote from Logitech can actually replace up to 5 devices at a time, a feature that could really come in handy when you're the owner of a large home entertainment system, formed out of several components (DVD player, HDTV, cable or satellite receiver, etc.). As mentioned earlier, it's compatible with a very large number of products, and its database can always be upgraded by connecting it to a PC via the included USB cable.

Another interesting feature of the Logitech Harmony 510 is represented by the Interactive LCD with help function, which will allow users to setup their remote controls in a very fast and easy manner. And if things are yet too complicated, they can always get live help from Logitech's technical service and online guide.

The Harmony 510 is not exactly a very affordable product, but, then again, universal remotes are not quite the cheapest devices of this type you can find. However, for 100 US dollars (the MSRP for the 510), users will get a pretty generous package, including just about everything one might need in order to get the remote working, namely a USB cable, 4 AAA batteries, an installation CD guide, plus a getting started guide.
