The iPad is undoubtedly one of the gadgets that gets the most accessories built for it, and it looks like Logitech took it upon itself to actually address both the lack of a physical keyboard and one's need to hold the tablet more or less upright at certain times.

The iPad was the first media tablet lacking a physical keyboard that ever made it to the consumer market, back in 2010.

Sparking a small (or big, depending on one's view) revolution of sorts, the tablet sold by the thousands and, when it looked like it would be challenged this year, was reinvented as the iPad 2.

Still, even for all its convenient features and many apps, there is still the fact that some would like a physical keyboard.

Fortunately for Apple, the company didn't have to bother making too many companion products for the slate, sine other IT players did and continue to do it in its stead.

Already there are many stands, cases, carrying bags, peripherals specially designed for portability, etc.

Now, Logitech has added its name to the list of companies that offer an iPad 2 stand, and it looks like the new product does several things.

For one, it can keep the slate more or less upright, at an angle similar to how a laptop screen would be held. The tablet can be held vertically or horizontally.

The other role that the so-called stand plays is that of a physical keyboard. After all, it is not named the Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad 2 for nothing.

What's more, the tablet itself can be placed, face-down, over the keyboard, so that the screen cover/keyboard hybrid can be affixed to it. Thus, protection is provided to the display while traveling.

The embedded keyboard is of the type that communicates wirelessly, via Bluetooth, while an USB port is only employed for charging purposes.

Finally, selling for 99.99 USD, the precision-cut, aircraft-grade aluminum-wrought Keyboard Case has rounded edges, as well as a high-density padding on the underside, to protect against drops.
