Logitech has just become the main star in one of those episodes where an IT player finally gets around to shipping a product that its prospective customers have been looking forward to getting their hands on.

Some users might remember that, back near the half of the previous month (June 2011), Logitech came forward and revealed that it had reimagined one of its most successful products.

Said product, a mouse, bore the name of MX518 and has been around for about a decade, but it has now been reincarnated, so to speak, under the guise of the new G400.

One could say that this is one of those gaming mice that, while incorporating a bunch of useful features, avoids the pitfall of overspecialization.

Logitech now revealed that this very product has finally reached the point where it can leave stores and enter the homes of those who set or want to set orders.

Naturally, the outfit did not shy away from including the rundown of the product specifications and features in the latest press release.

For one, the 8 buttons aren't too many for 'regular' gamers, nor too few, and, naturally, being programmable is just another asset.

Another thing is that the optical engine of 3,600 dpi can be configured, for different tracking characteristics, between 400 dpi and the aforementioned 3,600 maximum. This change can even be done-in game.

As for the design itself, it is made durable, with a sculpted comfort grip and polytetrafluoroethylene feet.

In other words, it will be easy to hold onto and glide across any surface, something critical for FPS (first-person shooter) or RTS (real-time strategy) games, among other things.

Prospective buyers need only drop by this page if they wish to set an order, though they will have to make sure they are prepared with the required $49.99.
