New one-hand keyboard for gaming enthusiasts

Today, Logitech, one of the leading manufacturers of computer peripherals, has introduced a new gaming keyboard, part of the company's successful line of G-series products. The new keyboard comes branded as the G13, and follows some of the company's most successful products, such as the two G15 keyboards or the G9 gaming mouse. Unlike its predecessors, however, the G13 comes in a custom-made form factor that should offer gaming users just enough keys and features to allow them to improve their gaming skills and experience.

The G13 has not been designed for both hands, but rather as a one-hand keyboard that provides a set of keys that can be customized for different games. In doing so, the end-user has the power to control almost every aspect of the game, using just one hand, while, thanks to its small form factor, the G13 will surely be a perfect companion at those LAN parties all over the world.

“If you’re into serious gaming, there’s no better feeling than playing with the G13 gameboard by your side,” said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech’s director of product marketing for gaming. “Unlike other gameboards that focus only on programmability, the G13 advanced gameboard incorporates the principles of our award-winning Comfort Wave design. So whether you’re getting into World of Warcraft or walking into your next LAN party, the G13 gameboard gives you a powerful advantage over those forced to work with less.”

This isn't the first one-hand keyboard on the market, since other gaming peripherals makers, such as Wolfking and Thermaltke, have already launched their own products of this kind. However, Logitech has taken things to a new level, as this creation was based on the company’s considerable experience in the design of gaming keyboards. Taking things that have been available only in the G15 keyboards so far, Logitech has developed the G13 with 25 programmable keys specifically placed to ensure an excellent control.

The G13 boasts an integrated LCD display, similar to that of the non-gaming G15 keyboard, an analog stick and a decently large palm rest. The custom-color 25 programmable keys have been featured with custom-color backlighting, while the built-in LCD can also be programmed to show info on ammo, in-game messages, or other things that might help the gaming user stay ahead of competition. With a price tag of $80, the G13 is clearly not the cheapest keyboard on the market, but then again, Logitech products are known for their higher prices, which are, in most cases, more than justified, given the build quality and the drive support.
