Logitech is once again building on its renown as worldwide supplier of peripherals and other PC accessories, having issued a press release in which it details a pair of audio products.

The past week may have been more or less full of CPU and GPU-related news, but the audio market is not going by ignored.

Indeed, Logitech made sure that users had something to look forward to on the sound market, even though it didn't say exactly how long the wait will last.

Then again, the press release did say shipments would begin this month (September 2011), and since pre-orders are already possible, one can be sure that the wait won't be too excruciating.

That said, Logitech has two things in store for prospective customers, the Wireless Headset and the Wireless Boombox.

The Boombox is, essentially, a speaker with 3-inch laser-tuned neodymium drivers, plus a pair of neodymium tweeters and four 2-inch passive radiators.

Its NiMH rechargeable battery can last for up to six hours on a single charge and, for convenience's sake, Logitech included a 3.5mm cable in the product bundle.

Meanwhile the wireless headset has a foldable design and a battery life of up to six hours, plus noise-canceling microphone and soft ear cups, as well as an adjustable headband.

“Consumers are at the heart of all the tablet and mobile accessories we’re creating,” said Azmat Ali, Logitech vice president of mobile and tablet products.

“We know people love their iPads and Android tablets. One of the things they do most is use them to enjoy entertainment content – whether that’s watching a movie on Netflix, sharing music, or listening to an audio book on the go. Our lineup of accessories has an option for everyone that can make entertainment even more enjoyable.”

The Bluetooth-enabled devices have prices of $69.99 (headset) and $179.99 (Boombox). They are mostly aimed at smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.
