Field engineers and system admins may find some use, everyone else not so much

Japanese company Logitec has prepared some 3.5-inch hard drive boxes that, contrary to what some may expect, don't do anything besides holding drives inside.

Made of ABS, they can hold one storage unit each and grant it physical, dust and static protection. All of them have a top hinged cap that locks into place.

In other words, they are something that field engineers and system administrators could want to use from time to time.

There are four color options: white (LHC-01WH), blue (LHC-01BL), green (LHC-01GN), and orange (LHC-01OR).

Logitec expects people to pay 980 JPY in exchange for each, which translates into $11.6 / 8.88 Euro.

At that price, we feel the company could have at least tossed in waterproofing as well, since it didn't provide USB connectivity or anything of the sort.
