Apple has just released an update for Logic Pro 8.0. The update addresses specific customer and compatibility issues of Logic Pro 8.0, and includes Wavebuner 1.5.2 and Impulse Response Utility 1.0.2. The last two additions address issues for Waveburner 1.5 and Impulse Response Utility 1.0 respectively. Click HERE to update now.

If you are using Logic Node, Apple claims you will need to update your Logic Node application on connected computers as well. After running the updater, you should find something called "Logic Node 8.0.2.dmg" in your Utilities folder. That's your updated Logic Node installer! Needless to say, the Cupertino-based computer and software manufacturer says that all Logic Pro 8.0 users should install this update.

The latest iteration of Apple's digital audio workstation and MIDI sequencer, Logic Pro 8, makes it easier for Mac users to translate musical inspiration into professional productions. Logic Pro 8 sports sophisticated tools and complete surround support.

Logic Pro 8 minimum requirements call for Macintosh with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4 processor. Recommended systems include the PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon. The latter is in fact highly recommended for the audio workstation. You'll also be needing 1GB of RAM (2GB or more highly recommended), display with a minimum 1024-by-768 resolution (1280-by-800 or higher recommended) and QuickTime 7.2 or later (you can grab the latest version right here).

A PCI Express, ExpressCard/34, USB, or FireWire based audio interface is also recommended.

However, for users of large EXS instruments, additional requirements need to be met: at least 2GB of RAM; USB musical keyboard (or suitable MIDI keyboard and interface) for instruments; Mac with a PowerPC G5, Intel Core, or Intel Xeon processor and Gigabit Ethernet to optimally run Logic Node.

Last but not least, a multichannel audio interface is required for a proper surround sound experience.
