Find geo-tagged data from local search engines, social networks, apps

Cynapse has released Localscope 3.5 for iOS platforms, an update to its navigation software that lets you explore your surroundings based on geo-tagged data from search engines, social networks, media sharing services, and apps.

Version 3.5 adds an extra security measure to the app’s Twitter integration (now requires login via your iOS Twitter accounts), and provides better results when you search for something.

The developers are signaling some issues in the YouTube API that are preventing location-based searches to deliver results. As a consequence of this, Cynapse has decided to switch off YouTube integration until the API in question gets fixed. “It can be enabled again via ‘Edit Services’,” says the company.

Finally, the compass calibration message will no longer nag you as much. However, if you need it to pop up, just visit the Localscope settings pane to re-enable it.
