Edge of Reality’s free to play third person shooter Loadout has seen quite the successful launch, seeing 9 million hours of play time from its 2 million registered users in its first two weeks of existence.

Loadout was launched little over a month ago on Steam, offering a comical multiplayer experience and a huge arsenal of customizable weapons, with gameplay that’s reminiscent of Quake or Unreal Tournament.

Its developers are not quick to rest on their laurels however, as they have revealed a veritable slew of updates scheduled to come in the near future.

Apart from the expected new maps and game modes, as well as parts and equipment and Steam Achievements, the team is also paying close attention to how games to in order to rebalance weapons and equipment, reduce lobby waiting times and adjust bot difficulty in co-op games.

Edge of Reality is also planning to introduce ranked playlists for multiple game modes, a tiered ranking system, private games for 8 player parties, a new PvE game mode, a Jackhammer vs Bots mode, new weapon parts and cosmetic options for characters and finally Mac support, sometime in the near future.

“We would truly like to add everything in our goals as quickly as possible, however we must state that ‘Near-Term’ feature set does not necessarily mean that they are guaranteed, or that they will come at the same time as other items within the same list,” the team was quoted by PCgamesN.
