After a long love and hate relationship with diets, former model, actress and businesswoman Liz Hurley says she’s found the secret to a toned body: no breakfast. Nutritionists are far from happy about it.

Having recently been targeted by the tabloid media for reportedly getting breast implants, Liz took to her Twitter to address the rumors. While there, she also talks about her toned and slim figure and what she does to maintain it that way.

As some of you may remember, Liz once said she owned her small waistline and overall toned figure to vodka. For a while now, she’s been sticking to a new rule, one that she believes is her secret for the perfect diet.

Hurley never has breakfast, regardless of what nutritionists say of this being the most important meal of the day. Instead, she drinks several mugs of hot water.

Of course, that’s not to say that she’s starving herself until lunch, because she also snacks on oatmeal cookies in mid-morning, when hunger sets in. Still, her diet “tip” is sending the wrong message, nutritionists say for the Daily Mail.

“My diet survived the onslaught of phenomenal vacation food-doctors disagree, but I swear by almost nothing for breakfast for adults. Mugs of hot water first thing, maybe an espresso and a few oat cakes mid morning,” Hurley tweeted.

Hot water and, of course, lots of working out. “Another workout in the gym with the Australian and an awful lot of hot water. Sick of it now,” she had tweeted hours earlier.

Nutritionist Carina Norris tells the Mail going public with this type of statements equals telling people they can be slim and gorgeous as Elizabeth by simply skipping breakfast and drinking hot water instead.

“If you think that some hot water and a coffee is all you need to look like Liz Hurley, then I’m afraid you are wrong. This is not the breakfast that I would recommend to people with regular lives,” she says for the same publication.

“First thing in the morning your body has not had any food or fuel all night and needs something to kick-start your day. The coffee will give you a kick but you will be relying on your body’s reserves and by mid-morning you would be more likely to snack on something unhealthy like a muffin,” Norris explains.

Then again, it’s not like Liz Hurley is not accustomed to pushing herself as regards her weight. In the past, aside from saying she was an adept of the vodka diet, the star revealed she usually went to bed hungry and that the only proper “meal” she had during the day was dinner.
