According to the company, the new service enables users to access archived emails, attachments, SMSs and PIN-to-PIN messages, along with call-log files, directly from their BlackBerry handset, no matter where they are.
The company also notes that the new solution can be easily deployed by system administrators, either via a web link or through the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. As soon as the application has been downloaded, the handset's home screen will display the LiveOffice icon, and users can simply click on it to log in with their LiveOffice Personal Archive credentials. Advanced searches of all messages and call-log files that are stored in their individual archives can then be performed, with no other hardware or software installations needed.
“According to our research, 76 percent of professionals always take their mobile devices with them on vacation. With much of corporate America working 'out-of-pocket' this holiday season, many workers still expect to send, receive and search email as if they were in the office. In addition, many of them have zero tolerance for email downtime in or out of the office,” Michael Osterman, principal analyst with Osterman Research, said.
“LiveOffice is arming these professionals with the technology they need to remain fully productive on their BlackBerry devices, whether they are searching for an email from a year ago, looking for an important text message from last month or trying to find a number they dialed just two weeks ago.”
