Windows 8 users finally have a dedicated live TV application that allows them to watch their favorite channels straight from their Metro/Modern interface.

Developed by FilmOn, the so-called “Live TV” application comes with plenty of pre-defined channels that provide standard definition content right on your Windows 8 device.

HD channels are also available, but also for registered users who agree to pay a small fee. There are, however, several TV categories, including sports, news, movies, lifestyle, shopping and kids.

The app allows users to pin channels to the Start Screen and record some of the channels straight from the Modern interface.

It works not only on x86 and x64 versions of Windows 8, but also on ARM builds, which means that Surface RT and Windows RT users can install it too.
