Microsoft is inviting users to enter queries into Live Search in order to aid U.N. Refugee Agency's Ninemillion.org. In this regard, the Redmond Company has debuted the Click for the Cause initiative. For this, Microsoft has made available the following address http://click4thecause.live.com, powered by Windows Live Search. Every search that users will enter here will result into a donation for the estimated 9 million refugee children worldwide.

"Driving awareness is critical to finding lasting solutions for the millions of refugees and displaced people worldwide," said Nick Van Praag, director of UNHCR's Division of External Relations. "Through Microsoft utilizing the MSN network on behalf of ninemillion.org, we are able to generate consumer awareness that we hope will result in donations to support this important cause, giving hope to refugee youth and children."

"At Microsoft, we feel we have a responsibility to use our resources and influence to make a positive impact on the world and its people. With our millions of visitors to MSN and Live Search each month, we hope to raise awareness of the plight of the 9 million refugee children," said Derrick Connell, general manager of Live Search. "We continue to be impressed with the important work of the UNHCR and ninemillion.org, and are excited for the opportunity to expand our support of a cause that impacts so many around the globe."

The Click for the Cause initiative is part of Microsoft ongoing collaboration with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The Ninemillion.org is another example of Microsoft's involvement with UNHCR, under the slogan "Help them learn. Help them play."
