Microsoft has pushed Live Mesh yet another step further and up to version 0.9.4014.4 with the latest update introduced on May 11, 2009. The Redmond company emphasized that testers of Live Mesh needed to take no actions in order to enjoy the evolution delivered by the refresh. Provided that the right configuration is in place, Live
Mesh will update automatically and require no user intervention. According to the software giant the May 11 Live Mesh update is focused on bringing to the table a variety of bug fixes.
“Fixes: updated date/time stamp UI for news events; added news events for permission level changes to folders; fixed UI for folder permissions in Firefox 3.0, IE8, and Safari; fixed general IE8 compatibility issues; [and] improved performance and functionality for large file uploads,”
revealed a member of the Live Mesh team.
The latest refresh comes just two weeks after the delivery of a service update designed for Mac OS X, Mobile, Live Desktop. At that time, Live Mesh for Mac and Live Desktop went up to version 0.9.4014.3, with Live Mesh for Mobile just a tad behind at 0.9.4014.2. The software giant focused on enhancing performance for Live Mesh across all supported platforms and the Cloud. At the same time, the update released at the end of April 2009 introduced a few tweaks to the graphical user interface. Microsoft promised at the time that end users would only have a few weeks to wait for the next update.
The April Live Mesh refresh debuted new “features: the last location used in the folder synchronization dialog is now saved. Live Mesh News will displays the date and time for all news events.” But also a few fixes: “Improved the update experience; device status (online/offline) now properly displayed on the Live Desktop; and news now correctly displays the year,” Microsoft
explained.
