LittleBigPlanet is a very popular game which gained a lot of critical acclaim due to its innovative gameplay and the fact that you can create your own levels to share on the PlayStation Network with your friends.

The level of customization is really amazing, players having the ability to completely manipulate the world of the game, with the help of their custom characters, SackBoy or SackGirl, depending on the gender. Before the launch of the game, Sony teased the public with custom SackBoy figurines which had special costumes designed to resemble famous characters from PlayStation releases.

Now, part of their continuing marketing campaign for the already launched title, Sony has just announced that starting with November 6, it would be offering weekly DLC (Downloadable Content) packs to customers of their PlayStation Store. As expected, some of the eagerly anticipated stuff will be free of charge, but certain things will be designed as exclusive content and monetized accordingly.

Most of the DLC packs will be made up of different, custom designed SackBoy costumes which really enrich the player experience through the game, but also enhancements to the Pop-It tool, which will increase the way players can interact with the game's world.

The first pack to be released on November 6 will be free of charge, as a token of appreciation towards fans, and will contain special costumes designed for the launch of the game, an astronaut one, and for Halloween, a pumpkin one. Those interested should download them pretty quickly because they will only be available until November 19.

The costumes will be categorized into specific classes, which may or may not cost money to download. The first pack will be a part of the Season and Limited Time Costume class, which are free of charge but available only for a limited period. Another free category is the Community Costume one, which will give players the chance to test out costumes created by members of the community. Normal SackBoy costumes will cost 0.99 dollars while Premium ones, which should make your SackBoy look like other videogame characters, will cost 1.99 dollars. A very special Rare category has yet to receive a standard price but ensures players that unique items will make their appearance in this category.

It is a very interesting idea from Sony sure to make the massive amount of LBP fans happy for quite some time.
