Get ready to join the beta group for LittleBigPlanet. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, David Smith, the co-founder and president of Media Molecule, the company behind the headline title for the PlayStation 3, has stated that he wishes to create a beta that will include as many people as possible, in order to offer the company the feedback it needs to add that extra coat of polish to the game.

David Smith said that "the beta is starting off in a very controlled way, but will hopefully open up to lots more people. We aren't at a stage yet to know what direction we need to go with this. Personally, I'd love the beta to have as many people as possible, but we need to wait and see." The decision might not be entirely the company's to make, as Sony might like to keep the beta rather small. Either way, we're likely hear about the conclusion in the following weeks.

The developer has also talked about a few of the game features that were unknown up to this point. He says there will be Voice over IP features designed to make it easy for one player to communicate with fellow gamers from another country. The voice options will be integrated directly into the game structure and will not require any third party software.

The game will also feature a complete soundtrack that can be used by any player in the levels that he designs. The only requirement is to collect the in-game object that is attached to a track. The Go! Team and Battles are listed among the bands that contributed music to LittleBigPlanet.

The game is designed to offer a user all the tools he needs to create his own adventure, while also coming with a Story mode, which will get people acquainted with the mechanics and possibilities of the game. Sony has made the title one of the key assets in its busy autumn release schedule.
