LittleBigPlanet 3, the recently confirmed iteration of the action series from Sony, will appear on the PS3, not just the PS4, although it's unclear how many of the features will carry over to the last-gen device.

LittleBigPlanet games have delivered some great experiences over the years, allowing fans of the series to flex their creative muscles and generate some imaginative new levels and gameplay sequences using the full-fledged creation tools at their disposal.

After bringing the series to PS3, PSP, or PS Vita, Sony revealed at E3 2014 last week that LittleBigPlanet 3 is going to appear on PS4 with a suite of new features.

Now, Sony's Steven Isbell has revealed on Twitter that LittleBigPlanet 3 is also set to debut on the PS3, meaning last-gen console owners can also take a part in the fun.

Unfortunately, no other details have been revealed and it's unclear just what features from the PS4 edition will be brought to the old console.

LittleBigPlanet 3 was presented as a great game running at 1080p native resolution, with full support for the PS4's DualShock 4 controller, as well as plenty of improvements made to the core recipe, not to mention new friends for protagonist SackBoy.

Expect to hear much more about LittleBigPlanet 3 as we get closer to its release this fall.
