Media Molecule and Sony have announced that the PlayStation Move-themed downloadable content for LittleBigPlanet 2 is now available for purchase on the PlayStation Store, in exchange for just $9.99.

LittleBigPlanet 2 impressed a lot of gamers at the beginning of the year, when Media Molecule, its developer, and Sony, its publisher, deployed it exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console.

Now, after quite some time, the studio has finally released its much awaited Move-themed DLC for LittleBigPlanet 2, after last week's patch that enabled players to use the special motion control technology in the game instead of the regular DualShock 3 controller.

In order to further motivate players to use the PlayStation Move and create levels designed specifically for it, the studio has now presented the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack, a downloadable add-on with tons of new gadgets, tools and even a single-player campaign called 'Rise of the Cakeling'.

"The epic downloadable pack includes tons of new gadgets and tools, giving you the power to create games for your PlayStation Move motion controller, which eventually means that tons of user-generated PlayStation Move-enabled games will be available to everyone for free via PSN. But most importantly, the Move Pack contains an epic new storyline titled “Rise of the Cakeling!”

The new campaign included in the add-on spans 14 new experiences, including 5 levels, 7 mini games and 2 cutscenes, which can all be admired in the video below.

What's more, now that the Move DLC is available, Media Molecule also confirmed, finally, its $9.99 price tag, which wasn't detailed whatsoever up until now.

For those who didn't buy LittleBigPlanet 2 up until now, the game is now available across the USA, at participating retailers, for just $39.99, so you can try it out before deciding to buy the PlayStation Move DLC.
