The team offering support for Little Big Planet announces that at the moment the video games in the series have more than 8 million levels that have been created by the community with tools offered by Media Molecule.

Steven Isbell, a community coordinator working on the game, states on the official PlayStation blog that, “Everybody should give themselves a big pat on the back because this wouldn’t be possible without you folks, we’re heading towards LittleBigPlanet’s fifth anniversary this year and having the community still growing strong is definitely something that you should all be proud of!”

The impressive number includes levels for the two core games in the series as well as the Vita version.

The developers will continue to offer their picks of community-created levels in the coming months.

Media Molecule is now working on Tearaway, which is set to arrive on the PlayStation Vita.
