Media Molecule Co-founder Alex Evans has recently declared that Little Big Planet 2 will get a patch that will allow players to implement the PlayStation Move as a means of control in the levels they create. It has already been stated that Little Big Planet 2 allows the use of Move in the level editor in order to make the creation process easier.

Evans has promised that the amateur level creators will be able to implement Move in the same way they implemented Sixaxis in the first installment in the series, from the Direct Control Seat feature of the editor. There will be some PlayStation Move levels included in Little Big Planet 2 at launch just to showcase what players who want to use motion control in their creations can achieve.

This has all been revealed in an interview with Joystiq, where he has also added that he is quite excited about what the community will bring to the table in terms of user-generated content, considering all the options that Little Big Planet would give them. He has gone to comment that, “The community can choose the mapping, like, I really look forward to, are they going to build cursor-based games, are they going to build gesture-based games? They have the choice eventually, and that's our high bar with Move. We didn't want to set a low bar with it, and tack it on the side. We wanted it to be a fully fledged citizen like the Sixaxis.”

Little Big Planet 2 is set to arrive in November this year. The game is a platformer at its core, but the main part of the title is the user creation tools it provides that are designed to be very easy to use. Besides the story campaign, Media Molecule is relying on the established creative community to make levels players can enjoy after the launch. The first iteration in the series was a serious success, with more than two million user-generated levels being available at the moment. Little Big Planet 2 will be backwards compatible with almost all of this content.
