The developers at Media Molecule, publisher Sony and comic book publisher DC Comics have already revealed that they are working on special superhero-themed levels for LittleBigPlanet and the three companies are now willing to offer details on their exact content.

Gamers who get the new downloadable content will be able to use a new power-up, the Hero Cape, which will allow Sackboy or Sackgirl to glide over long distances and perform aerial acrobatic moves inspired by Batman.

Players can also use wall jumps with new materials and tweakers, creating more areas that encourage exploration and impressive moves.

The developers add on the official PS Blog that they are also including a tool called the Memorizes: “Using this super tool you can power your creations and logic with the ability to remember things so that Sackfolk can leave your level, safe in the knowledge that their progress will be saved for another day!”

The DC Comics level pack will also include more objects, decorations, materials and musical pieces that can be used to create new stages that can then be shared with the community of LittleBigPlanet fans.

Media Molecule adds, “Every superhero (or supervillain) needs a disguise and hidden within this pack will be two costumes that will allow your Sackboy or Sackgirl to dress up as either Cyborg or Cheetah! Oh and if you own LittleBigPlanet PS Vita or LittleBigPlanet Karting, you will be able to download these costumes for those titles too!”

LittleBigPlanet is one of the most creative games ever launched on the PlayStation 3 and Sony is continuing to support the title with interesting content packs because it has a solid fan community that uses them to create new levels.

More DC Comics themed content is planned to launch in 2014 and a version of the game might also be delivered on the PlayStation 4.
