The product will be out of the US market because of Asetek lawsuit

Besides the really big and tiresome patent wars between the likes of Apple and Samsung, smaller ones are always going on.

Often, they don't reach us consumers, or at least they don't have that big an effect. If a feature is contested, the one that made the litigated device usually finds some way around.

That, or it takes so long for the issue to resolve itself that the litigated product is already old news and replaced by a successor in the meantime.

Swiftech's H220 CPU cooling kit is an opposite example: a product that is up for sale, but won't be for much longer.

Following Asetek's claims that the cooler infringes on their US patents 8,240,362 (the '362 patent) and 8,245,764 (the '764 patent), they have made the decision to cease selling it.

So far, the product is only on hold. Depending on how the litigation ends (it should take months), the product will either resume shipment or will be taken out completely.
