Dexim, creator of accessories and applications for consumer electronics, is making a splash with its cool “Visible” USB cable for iDevices that uses cool light effects to show how current passes through the cable to your Apple gadget.

The Dexim Visible Green Smart Charge & Sync Cable for iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad (White/Blue) is purchasable on Amazon for $19.99 (around 15 EUR).

It is described as “the new and innovative way to charge your iOS device quickly and safely.”

Of course, it doesn’t do anything extra in terms of charging and / or syncing, but it does add a coolness factor to the whole shebang.

The cable features electroluminescent (EL) technology that “visibly shows the electrical current flowing through the cable.”

The product's description on Amazon says, “The current runs fast when your device needs a lot of juice, then as you get over 60% charge, the current slows down. When your device is fully charged, the Smart Charger intelligently shuts off power from the source, saving power and money.”

The key features listed by Dexim include:

- See the power current run through the cable as it charges your device
- Shuts off power from the source when your device is fully charged
- Reduces latent power drain, saving power and money
- Electroluminescent (EL) technology

The Visible Green Smart Charger, used in tandem with the “Visible” cables, is making a name for itself in the eco-friendly charger market, as it has an automatic shut-off feature that slashes some dollars off your electric bill, while also preserving your iPhone’s battery life.

The Visible G Smart Charger itself is available in both black and white, but the cables come in various different colors. Visit Dexim here to learn more about their new product, and perhaps others.
