Clinical psychologist Dr. Emma Gray is very much convinced that people who listen to Miley Cyrus while studying are likely to get better results than those who settle for actual music.

The researcher says that, according to her investigations, pop songs that have somewhere between 50 and 80 beats per minute benefit the brain.

More precisely, they ad logical thought and make it easier for people to learn and retain new information.

Classical music appears to also do the trick. Thus, it appears that students who play some music in the background while studying are likely to up their score in a mathematics exam by about 12%.

All they have to do is make sure that the tunes they are listening to pack somewhere between 60 and 70 beats per minute. And actually study, rather than just lying in bed waiting for Tchaikovsky to drill the information into their heads.

“Music has a positive effect on the mind and listening to the right type of music can actually improve studying and learning.”

“Music can put you in a better frame of mind to learn - and indeed, students who listen to music can actually do better than those who don’t,” Dr. Emma Gray says.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather take 20 years to finish college rather than have Miley help me pass an exam.
