Listen: Taylor Swift 'Safe & Sound' ft. The Civil War

One of the most anticipated releases of 2012 is undoubtedly “The Hunger Games.” Until more details from the film are available, above is the hot out of the oven “Safe & Sound” ballad, straight off the soundtrack.

Featuring vocals by Taylor Swift and The Civil War, the song is almost painfully sweet and beautiful.

Those who've read the books by Suzanne Collins and know what to expect from the film can imagine how wonderfully it will work in that context.

“Something I’ve been VERY excited about for a VERY long time is going to be happening VERY soon,” Taylor teased on her Twitter just hours before the song emerged online.

Undoubtedly, her fans must have felt the same.
