Not even remotely as catchy as Will Smith's theme song for the first film

Some time ago, even before a third “Men in Black” film had been confirmed, word got out that Will Smith had already started working on a theme song. The movie studio eventually went with Pitbull for it.

You can listen to the track, aptly called “Back in Time,” below.

Choosing Pitbull makes sense in that it will probably attract people who haven't seen the first two films yet.

On the other hand, it's clear that his track is not even remotely as catchy or as iconic as Smith's “Men in Black,” which, at the time the first film was released, became as big as it was.

Then again, this might just work – though we can't help but feel a bit saddened for how it samples “Love Is Strange” by Mickey & Sylvia from “Dirty Dancing.”
