14 DAY TRIAL // The song “Here” featured on the soundtrack for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” sounds a bit odd after the success of “Happy,” an upbeat song. One would almost expect that Pharrell would only make upbeat songs, but “Here” is a slow-tempo contribution that is going to probably make it big in the end.
“Here” was written and produced by Pharrell himself, who also teams up with Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar for another song off the soundtrack, one called “It's On Again.” It features Williams singing about reuniting with a girl who used to be the love of his life.
“Isn't it clear/ We're here again/ Our thing right where we left it/ A delusion is a flight, first class to nowhere/ While a dream is a blueprint, a plane to go there,” he gushes before going into in the chorus.
The last time Pharrell did a song for a movie, it ended up winning Grammys and Oscars, so maybe this one will be as successful as his collaboration for “Despicable Me 2” called “Happy,” which is still being blasted on airwaves across the world.
“Here” will be heard in cinemas when “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” premieres on April 22, 2014.
