Adam Lambert is back! Not that he was actually gone anywhere, but he's been working on his second album, as fans must know. The first single off it, “Better Than I Know Myself” is now out.

While there's nothing negative to say about his debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” with this first single, it becomes clear that Adam is somehow moving away from the glam, to tackle a more soulful approach.

With “Better Than I Know Myself,” Adam is experimenting. His voice is allowed the freedom to soar, so that he can show his full, impressive vocal range.

At the same time, it's interesting to note that he hasn't picked a dance-y track for the leading single, especially considering that the gorgeous ballads on “FYE” were not at all promoted at the time.

This in itself stands as proof that he's matured and, as such, he might go for a slightly different sound.

Whichever that might be, Glamberts will certainly love it – it's not for nothing that they call Adam the perfect artist and entertainer.

We agree. How about you? How do you feel about his first single, “Better Than I Know Myself”?
