The Church of Scientology seems to have lost one more prominent member

Lisa Marie Presley, the King's daughter, has finally decided to leave the Church of Scientology whose member she's been for years, together with her mother Priscilla. At least, that's what her new song “So Long” seems to hint, it is being said.

It must be common knowledge by now that Scientology is a cult that lists among its members some of the richest and high profile celebrities, whose practices have long fascinated the media because they're as absurd as they're dangerous.

Priscilla and Lisa Marie have been longstanding members of the COS, even though Elvis was openly opposed to it, saying they were all fakes who were after his money with ridiculous promises and ideas.

Judging by one of the tracks included on her brand new album “Storm & Grace,” “So Long,” Lisa Marie is done with the cult – and she has no nice words to say about it either, as you can see for yourself by listening to it below.

Tony Ortega of the Village Voice Runnin' Scared Blog believes that “So Long” is Lisa Marie's way of saying that she deflected from COS and of announcing it to the world.

Ortega tried to get her to confirm or deny it, but neither she, nor her people are talking to the press on this particular issue. He pushed the matter with former Scientology members, now anti-Scientology campaigners, and they all agree with him, based on the lyrics of the song.

“The honesty and the passion are clear, and it seems as though she’s woken up. It’s what I would expect, having spent time with her,” “Californication” actor Jason Beghe, who publicly defected in 2008, says.

“Some people, when they leave Scientology, get very sad. Some get scared. But some, like me and apparently like Lisa, get [expletive]-ing [upset]. It has the same tone as my own thing, when I said publicly, show me a mother[expletive]-ing 'Clear',” the actor further says.

In layman terms, a “Clear” is a person who has completed all levels stipulated by Scientology and is basically endowed with superhuman powers, because he can control his mind to rid itself of all “clutter.”

“My heart goes out to her. It’s not an easy moment. But it seems that she’s seized control of it and used it artistically. I think that’s the strongest artistic communication I’ve heard her make. Coming out of Scientology has freed me up, artistically. It takes guts, it takes courage,” Beghe goes on to say.

It must have been even harder for her since she was in the cult ever since she was a child.
