Music games are extremely popular these days, as seemingly a lot of people have realized that their musically talented side needs fostering and nurturing until they can really take up instruments and start playing real-life tracks.
But while band games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band are extremely popular, karaoke games like Sony's SingStar are even bigger. That's why Microsoft launched its Lips title, which promises to deliver a complete karaoke experience to those who want their voices to be heard and noted.
Ever since the release of the game last year, there has been a slow, but steady, stream of downloadable content released for it. While some of it wasn't really that important, it seems that the North American company is focused this month on delivering some extremely popular tracks, which can be played by almost anyone who has been alive in the past 20 years.
Cult hits like Vanilla Ice's Ice, Ice, Baby or Somewhere Only We Know from Keane will be joining songs like Freak Like Me from the Sugababes or Love Like This from Natasha Bedingfield and Sean Kingston.
Scheduled to arrive throughout this month every week, these new tracks will cost 160 MS Points and will keep your karaoke thirst quenched until
Lips: Number One Hits will arrive during this fall, bundled with even more popular tracks from artists like Coldplay or MC Hammer.
Available June 5: I Alone – Live;
Somewhere Only We Know – Keane;
Joey – Concrete Blonde.
Available June 12: Freak Like Me – Sugababes;
Love You Anyway – Boyzone.
Available June 19: Spiralling – Keane;
Take Back The City – Snow Patrol;
Radar Love – Golden Earring.
Available June 26: Love Like This – Natasha Bedingfield feat. Sean Kingston;
Ice Ice Baby – Vanilla Ice;
I Want You To Want Me (Live at Budokan) – Cheap Trick.
Overall, these are some pretty interesting songs, which might really tempt you to buy them and have a go at singing the lyrics. Look forward to more new tracks next month, as Microsoft will continue to support the game.
