We will not know if Zidane will retire or not. If we were to believe what he said before the World Cup, the Frenchman already said good-bye to the world of football. And everything was just perfect for it. France was in the World Cup final and they could have won it on penalties. Zizou was just 10 minutes away from making a great exit. Still, he couldn't control himself and hit Materazzi with his head.

And now, everyone
is trying to keep him from retiring. All his friends, colleagues, former teammates and journalists agree that this is not the way a great footballer like Zizou should say good bye. More, his former Juventus coach and current technician of Squadra Azzura, Marcello Lippi, stated that he is more than sorry for Zidane and that the midfielder should reconsider retiring.

"I'm sorry for Zidane, because I hold him in great esteem, and he knows that. He's a great player and I don't want to see him go. I told him before the start of the game to think over his decision to retire. It's a shame to end his career in this way", said Lippi after the game.

Of course, we will all wonder what Materazzi said to Zidane before that horrible foul. But that's history now. It's a pity though, because the Frenchman did not deserve this kind of retirement. He has done a tremendous job this World Cup and practically won the important clashes by himself. He scored in the final of the competition and was very close on finishing it in style.

He has not released any statement until now, and people think that this is not going to happen any time soon either. And the media did not launch any accusations on him either, since the great Zizou means more than just a mistake.
