The developers are aiming to hire someone who can work with DirectX 11

Video game developer Lionhead has put out an ad for a new position which suggests that the company is working on a project that might be launched on the next generation of home consoles from Microsoft.

The new position will be asked to work with “modern rendering engines (DX11),” which rules out the current Xbox 360.

It is unlikely that Microsoft would have Lionhead working on a game to be launched only on the DirectX 11 supporting PC.

The ad also talks about “large new engine systems” and about “real-time global illumination and deferred rendering pipelines.”

Lionhead is best known for creating the Fable series, which has been used to showcase the abilities of the Xbox 360, including the Kinect motion tracking system.

It would make sense for the wholly owned developer to be working on a new project, potentially linked to the Fable universe, which will emphasize the most interesting abilities of the upcoming home console from Microsoft.
